Naturalizing The Nepahwin Beach Shoreline

CGS Regreening Program staff planting native shrubs at Nepahwin Beach, September 2021

Working with the City of Greater Sudbury Parks, Horticulture, Regreening Program and Lake Water Quality Program, the Nepahwin Lake Watershed Stewardship Group (NLWSG) successfully applied for a microgrant from Watersheds Canada, Canadian Wildlife Federation and Love Your Lakes allowing the NLWSG to purchase ~175 native plant plugs to stabilize and naturalize a section of shoreline at Nepahwin Beach. Educational signage on the benefits of shoreline restoration to maintain a healthy aquatic ecosystem will be erected by CGS in 2022. A big thank you to all our partners.
