Celebrate and share the beauty of the LU greenspace in all seasons. The Laurentian University greenspace is where we hike, swim, ski, learn, and connect to nature and family. The LU insolvency could put this all at risk.

How it Works
1.
The Contest is open to all ages.
2.
Photos must have been taken within the boundaries of the Laurentian Greenspace (see map)
3.
CATEGORIES: Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall. Images should clearly depict the season, and showcase why this Greenspace is worth saving.
4.
SUBMISSION: Participants may enter a maximum of one submission per category by completing the form below, or emailing lugreenspace@gmail.com with their file, title and description. The contest will be open to submissions from November 8th, 2021 to December 6th at 7:00 pm.
5.
SELECTION: A panel of judges will review all eligible entries and select three (3) finalists per category. Selection will be based on criteria such as photo composition, originality and how well the image and its description reflect the selected contest category.

The twelve (12) selected images will be shared on the Help Save Laurentian Trails and its Ecosystem Facebook Group where they will be voted on by the public. Votes are submitted by commenting "vote" on the specific image. The voting period begins December 10th and ends December 17th, 2021 at 11:59pm.

The Category Winners will be announced on this page and the Facebook Group December 18th, 2021.
Judges Panel
Jess is the one behind NLWSG's website and communications. She's also a wife to one, a mom to three and a budding photographer.
She's been walking, riding, skiing and exploring the greenspace her entire life and wants to ensure the same opportunities remain available for her children.

Sébastien is a master’s student in educational leadership currently teaching K-8 in a remote school. As an outdoors enthusiast he spends his free time hiking, snowshoeing, bird watching and studying the medicinal properties of trees and plants. The greenspace has become a place where he finds peace, and wants to ensure that everyones has access to such a haven for years to come.

Jesse is an 80's baby, born in a time when kids would venture outdoors at the crack of dawn, and return home at dusk. Jesse started the group 'Help Save Laurentian trails and its Ecosystem' as soon as he caught wind of the impending dangers they face. He currently works as a pump/well technician in the field, and is fortunate that his work space is a revolving backdrop of rural nature. He is an avid outdoorsman, with survivalist training and knowledge in Ontario herbalism. He is also an all round animal lover. The LU greenspace has been a living, breathing classroom for Jesse ever since he was a child, and continues to be a place of peace and solace. He hopes that countless generations will be able to enjoy this majestic gem as he has.

Contest Rules
TERM AND ELIGIBILITY TO ENTER
1.1 The #SAVELUGREENSPACE Photography Contest (the Contest) is offered online at www.nepahwinlake.ca/greenspacephotocontest and Help Save Laurentian Trails and its Ecosystem Facebook Group, and is open to the public.
1.2 There is no cost to enter.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
2.1 Participants can submit only one photo into each of the following categories — Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall —and provide a brief description of 250 words or less (describing subject matter or theme of photo, where & when was it taken, etc.). Digital photo requirements: a jpeg file with a resolution of not less than 300 dpi at a minimum size of 5 x 7 inches (1500 pixels x 2100 pixels, or greater). Jpeg file must not exceed 10MB. Photos not meeting these requirements may be excluded from the contest. Hard copies will not be accepted.
2.2 Submissions should not include copyright-protected material by third parties unless permission has been granted.
2.3 How to Enter:
2.3.1 NLWSG Website: Participants entering online at www.nepahwinlake.ca/greenspacephotocontest may upload their photos until December 6th, 2021
2.4 Receipt of entries shall not be acknowledged.
JUDGING AND PRIZE AWARDING

On December 10th, 2021), twelve (12) finalist photos (three from each category) will be selected from among all entries received by an internal panel of judges. Judging will be based on criteria such as photo composition, originality and how well the submission reflects the selected contest category. Decisions of judges are final.

Selected images will be shared on the Help Save Laurentian Trails and its Ecosystem Facebook Group for a one week voting period; December 10th to 17th. A positive vote will only be considered if it is clearly indicated in the comment section of the specific image.

3.2 The prizes are non-transferable and must be accepted as awarded. The prizes are guaranteed to be awarded. By entering the contest, entrants agree to abide by these rules, and the decisions of the #SAVELUGREENSPACE representatives are final on all matters regarding this contest. The winners will be notified by email and facebook, shortly after they have been identified as finalist/winning entries. If a prize is unclaimed the next eligible person will qualify to win it.
CONDITIONS
By entering, the entrants warrant and represent the following with respect to their submission: (a) entrant is the sole and exclusive owner of the submission and its copyright; (b) photo was taken solely by the entrant; (c) the submission will not infringe on any rights of any third parties; and (d) any third parties appearing in the submission have given their consent to having their photo be entered into the contest.
By participating, entrants agree to release, discharge and hold harmless #SAVELUGREENSPACE representatives, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising agencies, and sponsors, agents and their employees, officers, directors, and representatives from any claims, losses, and damages arising out of their participation in this contest or any contest related activities and the acceptance and use, misuse, or possession of any prize awarded hereunder.
By submitting an entry, entrants acknowledge and agree that all submissions may be reproduced and published (without notice or compensation) by #SAVELUGREENSPACE and/or its affiliates..
Submissions may be cut, reformatted, rearranged, combined with other materials and/or otherwise modified. Participation in the contest and acceptance of prize constitute the winner’s permission for #SAVELUGREENSPACE to use their names, photographs, biographical information, and/or any statements made by each winner regarding the contest without notice or additional compensation.
#SAVELUGREENSPACE reserves the right to refuse submissions deemed inappropriate or offensive in any way.
RIGHT TO CANCEL OR SUSPEND CONTEST
If for any reason #SAVELUGREENSPACEis not able to run the contest as planned, due to infection by computer virus, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of #SAVELUGREENSPACE that corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this contest, #SAVELUGREENSPACE reserves the right to terminate or suspend the Contest. Furthermore, #SAVELUGREENSPACE can disqualify any individual(s) who tamper with the entry or voting process.
